FAQ

Direct Deposit:

What is Direct Deposit?

It is a benefit whereby your net pay, (pay after taxes and other deductions), is deposited into your checking or savings account.

How do I enroll?

Enrollment forms are available on this website as well as in your school or work location office.  Forms are also available by calling or emailing the Payroll Office or Human Resources.  Return the completed Direct Deposit form to the Payroll Office.  Please attach a voided check if you are depositing into a checking account.

Do you offer my bank for Direct Deposit?

Yes!  You may select any bank, credit union, or financial institution in the country.

Can I have my pay go into more than one bank or more than one account?

No.  100% of your net pay must be deposited into one bank, one account, checking OR savings.  Many banks offer services for automated payments and for distribution to savings, money markets, etc.  Check with your financial institution for further details.

How does my money get to my bank account?

Each payday, your net pay will be deposited into your account by electronic funds transfer based on information provided by the Payroll Office to your bank.

When is my money available?

Your net pay will be in your account when you wake up each scheduled payday.  No need to go to the bank - it's already there!

How will I know the amount being sent to the bank?

You will receive from Cecil County Public Schools each pay a statement of gross earnings, payroll deductions, and net pay.

What if I change banks or bank accounts?

Just complete a new Direct Deposit enrollment form and send to the Payroll Office.  Allow 30 days for the transition process.  DO NOT CLOSE A BANK ACCOUNT UNTIL THE CHANGE HAS BEEN PROCESSED BY THIS PAYROLL OFFICE.  Maintain both accounts until your new bank receives your pay.
